Water - the elixir of life

Last month a lady came to me with her daughter Disha. She was seven years old.
“Doctor, since a few months, Disha feels extremely tired when she comes from school.
She just comes home and drops on to her bed. I give her food, but she is so tired, she can’t even finish it. She just wants to lie down. Often she complains of a headache. Her friends call her to play, but she refuses saying she would rather watch TV, since she feels tired. Also her attention span on her studies is going down. Earlier she could remember what she read very well, but not so much now. Her immunity is going down. Last month she had fever and a UTI before that. We are really worried. What is happening to her? She is eating all right. She sleeps well, infact more, because of this constant feeling of tiredness. We Also got her blood checked last month when she had fever, it was all well.” The mother was very worried.
Not only little Disha, but many of us do face such symptoms where we feel tired, sleepy without any major physical problem. The reasons in each vary. Through our detailed consultation, we try getting into the root of the problem. Many times it could be stress, anxiety, mental fatigue, ennui, anaemia, certain mineral deficiencies (important, often ignored), lack of exercise.
In Disha’s case it was Lack of Optimal Hydration.
Yes, her water intake was not adequate. She was dehydrated. All her symptoms :
Poor immunity
Recurrent UTIs
Constipation
Bad breath
Poor attention span
Poor memory
Frequent headaches
Dull skin
TIREDNESS
These Indicated her water intake was not adequate. Her mother was explained that Disha needed to drink adequate water.
“ But I do give her a water bottle to school which comes home as it is. When I keep telling her to drink more water, she tells me to stop nagging her. She doesn't listen to me.” the mother complained.
Indeed this is a fairly common problem. In their busy life, not even children, but grown ups too forget to drink water. But there are solutions to every problem.
We advised Disha’s mother to make water “interesting.” She bought a fancy, colourful glass bottle for her. Every day she would add a few leaves of tulsi, sometimes mint, sometimes lemon or fennel to her bottle. It was interesting for Disha to discover what flavour her water would be today. Her tiffin would comprise of juicy fruits like watermelon, musk melon, cucumbers with fancy toothpicks. On coming home, her mother would give her a milk shake or lemonade or coconut water. She was counselled on the bad effects the lack of water could have on her health and her looks and told her to do her urine check to ensure her water intake was adequate. Urine check means, her urine should be clear or straw coloured not yellow, which meant she was doing a good job.
Her mother was also advised to clean her bottle with diluted vinegar weekly to remove the germs.
Water is the most important element that makes up our body. More than 70% of our body is made up of water. It makes our blood flow, exchange nutrients , flushes out waste, carries the enzymes, the hormones. It is the life sustaining life force, without which we wither away into fatigue. No wonder in our rituals we keep a bowl of water in front of God with some tulsi leaves, pray and them have a sip of the holy water endowed with all the power of our prayers, positivity and Almighty’s blessings. It is time we go back to the old times.
Disha’s small ailment or complaint brought about a whole shift in the family’s lifestyle .
While talking to her mother she mentioned that she had started developing aches and pains in her body and her husband’s cholesterol levels were out of normal range.
We explained to her how she could use water as a medium for cure by “Energising” it. By energising water, it has been found scientifically that though the chemical composition remains the same, the molecular structure of water changes considerably. This raises the level of effectiveness of water so much that it now acts like medicine. This is how water of Gangotri gets its healing and life preserving qualities.
With her new found awareness and understanding of the humble water and how it can be used as a life giver, healer, preserver of health. Determined to make the change for her family’s health and well being, Disha’s mother resolved to follow the practices taught to her a part of her life.
She was now a strong advocator of the “Water medicine” and guided everyone on how to use water to good effect, to cure illnesses, to get rid of chronic complaints, pains, aches, constipation, digestive complaints.
Six month’s later, they dropped by and it was lovely to see the family. Disha looked radiant, smiling with a glow on her face. Her mother was beaming. She mentioned that “the Miracle water” had worked. She had been using the energised water well putting it her daughter’s and husband’s water bottles, for cooking. All of them were drinking adequate water well. Her aches and pains were a thing of the past. She felt more energetic. Disha was back to her chirpy self, playing, studying, healthy, happy. Also her husband’s cholesterol levels came back to normal.
Such are the healing properties of the live giver, “Elixir” when used in the right manner.
